In these terms of use "Embark", "We", "Us" or "Our" refers to embark and “You” and “Your” refers to You.

Embark respects Your privacy and is committed to the protection of it. This privacy policy explains why and when We collect Your personal information, and what use We make of that information. The policy also explains how and why Your information may be disclosed to third parties, and the security measures used by Us to help protect Your personal information.

Why and when We collect Your information

There are a number of circumstances in which We may store and process information in order to make the Embark Wiki available to You.

Personal information You give us

Many of the interactions You have with the Embark Wiki require us to collect Your personal information. In most cases the personal information We collect is limited to that information necessary to make the functionality of the Embark Wiki available to You, such as information You provide as part of creating a profile on the Embark Wiki, commenting on an article or subscribing to information feeds. Personal information third parties give us about You

We may collect information about You from third parties, such as unified login details and social media information.

Website information (including cookies and session ids)

The Embark Wiki uses cookies and other encoding techniques in order to provide functionality to You, such as persistent preferences, profile information and searching. These techniques typically involve Our webserver sending Your browser an encoded message, which is then returned to our webserver when You next perform an action. We may also send You an encoded link via email which, when clicked on will automatically take You to Your profile or partly processed information, such as a draft submission. User Profiles

Some functions in the Embark Wiki require that You have a profile. That profile records personal information. As part of the directory service included in the Embark Wiki, We may disclose Your profile information (which includes personal information) to other users and the general public.

Other uses

We may use Your information to measure Your experience in the Embark Wiki, research potential changes to the Embark Wiki and to inform You of information or services that We believe will interest You. The Embark Wiki is made available through the collaboration of a number of different people, some of which work at Embark and other who do not. In addition to those third parties that work with Embark directly on the Embark Wiki, We may also make Your personal information available to other third parties for the purposes of providing and maintain the Embark Wiki infrastructure (such as third parties that provide hosting and back-up services).
