  • Funding

Many early community energy projects will need direct financial support while the foundations of a sustainable industry are laid. Australia’s community energy sector is embryonic, and each new project has to start from scratch — spending significant time and resources negotiating each stage of a long and complex process. In addition, traditional capital equity structures are not currently interested in community energy projects. Embark’s expectation is that the need for project funding assistance will ultimately disappear as the industry matures and sufficient private funding becomes available.
